The Wonders of Absent Healing

When thinking of spiritual healing many elements of healing may spring to the mind. We have the increasingly popular reiki or crystal healing which all assist us on our journey to connecting with the universe and the spirit world. But just before you plonk rose quartz or green aventurine crystal to your heart chakra centers there are other things we can do to ask for guidance and protection as well.

Over the years I have been a regular visitor to many Spiritualist Churches and am always amazed at the wonderful feeling of warmth and comfort that I get from attending whether I receive a message or not.

One of the things that I don't understand is that although there is great emphasis placed on absent healing in many spiritualist churches, why has it not been given the recognition it truly deserves? For many of us absent healing is only used when we right down the names of those who are feeling ill as a way of transferring that message on to the spirit world. We then focus are attention on the medium who may provide us with spiritual evidence that the loved one you had mentioned in the church's absent healing book will get acknowledged via the medium. Of course this would be wonderful and we are blessed with many mediums within our churches who provide amazing insight into the spirit realms.

What I do not understand is why we tend to only except the powers of absent healing when we are only in church. Have you ever sent out a thought about someone only to walk down the street and bump into him or her unexpectedly or receive a call from that person. For sending out that thought in your mind is in itself absent healing and a way for the spirit world to react to that thought by providing guidance. In fact the results can some times be more profound as you have personally spent time to focus on that particular person by putting some time aside to think of them. We also some times tend to rely on a medium or healer for overall assistance. After all for many of us who have been through the mill after suffering many tragedies in life, we may feel that we don't have much to give in terms of helping others. We may also feel that as our souls have taken so many knocks we do not have sufficient energy to transfer healing to another person.

One thing we can try to remember is absent healing does not have to be so full on and only sent out because a person is sick. It could be sent for any reason as long as it is for the highest good and well being of that person, animal, plant etc. For example you have had a disagreement with someone at work or with a friend. By sending out a positive thought to the spirit world by simple asking them to help you to make peace with that person. Before you know it help will be on the way and often in the strangest of ways and one that you may least expect. Or you have plant at home that you connect with, why not ask it for help if you have something on your mind.

Another delightful part of absent healing is that it can be practiced either on your own or with a group of friends. For getting some friends together to connect with our spiritual ancestors can provide a powerful entity where everyone can benefit. By using our minds to channel into spirit through prayer and thoughts the names that are sent out will manifest itself to spirit.

One of the most wonderful things about sending out absent healing is that it can be practiced with friends in the simplest of ways. By gathering a few friends together the power of thought can be extremely uplifting. There is nothing fancy needed just a few friends getting together embracing some quite time. Some people opt to use meditative music but you can send out absent healing with or without it. It's more important to be comfortable and know what you want to achieve.

Ask the spirit world questions in your mind or say them out loud. These could be anything as the list is endless as long as it is for the highest good for you or for others. You may want help with a bereavement that you are finding difficult to come to terms with or simply want to bring more joy into your life.

Absent healing may not work wonders instantly but rest assured your thoughts and prayers are always heard. Wee have to remember that time has only been created by mankind the spiritual universe has no time span.
