Advice on how to attract the
people and things you want in life

Greetings “Attraction”
Readers;
The reader who was “itching
for a change” certainly gave us a lot to ponder! This is the month
that we finally get down to the “how” of attracting who and what
you want in life.
April and May
columns focused on people situations (personally and professionally)
and desired outcomes. I hope you had time to try out the
experiential and journaling exercises that were offered. Sorting
out who brings us joy and what makes us feel passion can be a
challenging, and necessary, exercise in order to reach the successes
or goals that you envision for yourself.
Being attractive involves
all parts of life. Most importantly, we must feel beautiful
inside, and know that we are worth every ounce of effort that we
expend on our journey. There were times in my life when I sought
counseling to really get this myself. I am a strong believer
in removing any roadblocks that prevent one from stepping fully into
their own power.
There are many “laws of
attraction”. You can make up your own. These are five of my
favorites: (Thanks to my early coaching training with Thomas
Leonard.)
Attractive
people see perfection in the present.
Attractive
people have a reserve of everything – finances, love, time, skills,
space.
Attractive
people have all of their needs met.
Attractive
people add value to everything they do.
Attractive
people help others succeed.
Attractiveness is offering
people exactly what you have instead of trying to change
yourself to give others what you think they want! A key to
marketing myself, whether business or personal, is to help others
find out what I have available right now!
STOP this minute and write
five or more things that you have available to offer at this moment.
Another “must” on this path
of attractiveness is becoming incredibly selfish. “Selfishness” is
awkward for us to label, because most of us were taught to take care
of others first. However – in order for us to create and reach our
goals, we need to take extremely good care of ourselves so that we
will have the stamina and spiritual health to move forward with
enthusiasm.
Please take quiet time this
week to ponder the following thoughts of how you might
attract what and who you want in life. Continue adding your own
inspirations as you brainstorm your personal “attraction plan of
action”!
1. Create your own advisory
board. Make a purposeful list of those people in your life who
support you on all levels. Let them know that you have chosen them
to be on your motivation team. Surround yourself with positive
people.
2. Think of one or more men
or women who you don’t know, but admire. Why are you attracted to
them? Call and ask to talk with them for a few minutes. (Have you
read Susan Jeffers book
Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway? Keep this phrase in mind as
you are trying out new experiences on your “attraction campaign”.)
3. Craft an “extreme self
care” program. You might need to start with tiny steps, and this is
perfectly o.k. Schedule anything that brings you pleasure --
from weekly bubble baths to regular time off pursuing your passion.
The object is to give to yourself and start creating a reserve of
energy.
4. Fill in training and/or
education that you feel necessary to reach your next desired level.
This has always created confidence for me, which in turn allowed me
to jump to the next steps with self-assurance.
5. Orient your life around
your goals. This may take a few months, sometimes even years. When
you are fully committed to being attractive, you will discover that
the successes you desire can be reached by one action at a time.
You are worth it. Start now!
As you can see, there are
vast dimensions involved in changing one’s direction with life, even
if you’re only looking to give it a healthy tweak. These columns on
“who, what and how” to attract and be attractive are simply one set
of arenas to explore.
Basically, attraction is an
investment in yourself. Enjoy the process of becoming
attractive! It is a fun venture and has incredibly positive
outcomes, even though we never know exactly what the results might
be. Treat yourself as the most important person in the
universe. This life is a journey and we are never sure where the
path will lead, so gift yourself with whatever you need to live your
passion along the way.
