Already, the states of
Louisiana, Delaware, Tennessee, Missouri and Oklahoma have made
Salvia divinorum illegal. One wonders how long it will be until all
50 states make it a crime to have in your possession the plant
leaves that shamans have used for hundreds of years in their
spiritual rituals. That is because Salvia, also known as "Diviners
Sage" has been used successfully to induce astral projection and out
of body experiences that enhance spiritual development.
Although Salvia divinorum
may be one of the most powerful entheogenic herbs yet known to
mankind, the effects it produces are not hallucinations. That is,
the plant is not an hallucinogenic. Rather, a leading distributor of
Salvia products states in its literature that the experiences that
Salvia induces are completely real, safe and natural.
Some of the experiences that
have been reported by those who used Salvia include: feeling
weightless and flying over the astral landscape; seeing the
perspective of another being; gaining secret knowledge and finding
hidden answers; and meeting up with non-physical entities; as well
as feeling at peace and at one with the universe.
For a limited time, there is
a
free astral projection MP3 being made available by the
Salvia Dragon website. "The Official Astral Induction" CD-ROM
formerly sold for $30 to $50, but they are now giving it away as a
free MP3 as part of a special promotion.
Some history and background
of Salvia. Originally, Diviners sage was chewed by tribal shaman
just the same way chewing tobacco is used. They might also brew it
into a tea for drinking or smoke it like tobacco.
Different people have
different reactions to the Salvia experience, and there are various
testimonials written up about these experiences on the Salvia Dragon
website.
Of more concern is the
erosion and loss of civil liberties that would be the result if a
natural, herbal substance with centuries of traditional spiritual
usage, such as
Salvia divinorum, may be declared illegal when far more harmful
products, such as tobacco are not illegal but generate millions of
dollars in tax revenues for the governments.
